Sunday service is held at 10.30 AM. It is a Family Worship, and all are welcome. St. Andrew’s is a family Church with lively worship, following a traditional URC pattern. There is a thriving Junior Church.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the second Sunday of each month.
Balham has changed considerably over the last few decades. It is still a bustling metropolitan community, but it has become increasingly popular with commuters and young families. House prices have risen dramatically and many people associated with our churches have found themselves “priced out” of the area.
St. Andrew’s URC is strategically situated on the corner of Laitwood and Cavendish Roads, in a residential area where there are many families. The church is almost opposite Henry Cavendish Primary School and is passed every day by children and their parents on the way to and from the school.
Immediately opposite the church is an industrial estate, where there was once a residential estate. We can only hope that one day history repeats itself…
Balham town centre has a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes and a small street market. The town centre is small and friendly. Balham underground is on the northern line and there is also an overground rail network.
